Shizentai - normal body posture

Shizentai means the normal upright posture. It is the best starting position for all movements and reactions.

Both feet are slightly narrower than the width of your shoulder purports, the are legs straight and not tense. The head is slightly raised and the upper body is in a relaxed position and not bent over. All throwing techniques (Nage waza) are started in not competition orientated training from this position.

There are three types of Sinzentai:

Shizen hontai
Migi shizentai
Hidari shizentai
