Katame no kata - Form of control |
The Katame no kata was designed from 1884 to 1887 by Jigoro Kano as the second traditional kata of the of Kodokan and belongs to the Randori kata. |
It consists out of three groups of five ground techniques: Osae komi waza, Jime waza and Kansetzu waza. The 15 techniques are executed on one side only, migi. At the BDJJ e.V. this kata is in a slightly different form for the examination for the 2 Dan required.
This is not a guide to learning the "Katame no kata", but it gives the practitioner only a help. To correctly learn the kata, it is essential to follow the instructions of a trainer (master).
