Osae komi waza - Pinning techniques
The pinning techniques are classified in the order as shown below, you can glide from the first pinning technique (kesa gatame) into the next, right up to the 11th technique (Ura gatame) without interruption.
This means TORI can go from one technique into the other without loosing physical contact to lUKE. From the 12th pinning technique (Kashira gatame), it is more or less variants of the first 11 techniques, but with important differences in the execution.
- The 12th pinning technique (Kashira gatame) is almost a variant of the 1st (Kesa gatame),
- the 13th (Ura shiho gatame) and 14th (Kami sakaku gatame) from the 3rd (Kami shiho gatame),
- the 15th (Kuzure yoko shiho gatame) from the 7th (Mune gatame),
- the 16th (Tate sakaku gatame) from the 8th (Tate shiho gatame),
- and the 17th (Uki gatame) from the 9th (Kuzure kesa gatame) pinning technique.
